You need to be logged in to bid. The detail page shows the minimum next bid; you can place a single bid or set a maximum auto-bid that bids on your behalf up to that amount.

If a buy-now price is set, you can end the auction immediately by paying that price, which takes you straight into the regular order and payment flow.
