Lending protocols hold two different amounts side by side: the assets deposited and the amount borrowed against them. By default the history shows only the deposited assets, because that is the figure protocols are usually compared by.

The switch adds the borrowed amount, showing the full volume the protocol moves. Both curves are correct, they simply answer different questions. The switch appears only where borrowed amounts exist at all.
